Ah Bet fell in love with her new golden retriever pup over the weekend, and I fell in love with a new song, JJ Lin's 'Down'… Lyrics below…
down (JJ)
I cant believe it Tell me I'm dreaming
That we are still "we"?
It was amazing Said you were lucky
That you found me
It was on a rainy day that we met
you didn't have a place to go
I said we just met so lets go slow but no
you just told me to keep you from the cold
Sorry I can't take it
Why did u fake it Why did we kiss?
And I'm just down
You left me with a note without a sound
I figured I must have been such a child
You'll never know how much I've been around
How my heart just frowns
If you're down
I'll be your teddy bear, I'll be your clown
I'll take you round and round and
If you don't mind I could be your standing ground
Even if that means I'd drown
And baby, that'll be my one last vow

Apparently there is a chinese version to this song, which I don't know the title of, (edited: its Shu Nan Sheng Qiao) hehe… coz I'm a bloody illiterate when it comes to the Chinese Language… but I love the melody and the lyrics of both versions, though its probably going to take me a while to understand the Chinese version…
The weekend has been good to me, with Saturday being the MSYC all-day outing at Pasir Ris Park and yesterday spent lazing at home… The weather has been all out to get us though… Saturday started out bright and sunny and freaking hot… then right after lunch, it proceeded to rain down on us like there's no tomorrow… so we had to grab all our stuff and head back to a shelter, which I got stuck at watching bags for the rest of the afternoon… while the team continued with their water games out in the rain… *brrrrr* [erm... i actually love playing in the rain but I seem to have a permanent case of the sniffles this year so I choose to err on the side of caution...] but I quite enjoyed sitting with the bags coz I had great company… Liza was with me half the time till Angelline showed up… and we had a great chat… till the team was done at ard 3.30p.m… oh yes… there was only one interruption which i Absolutely, Positively, HAVE to mention… because someone is anxiously waiting to read about it…
well… halfway through my chat with angelline, Simon came running frantically and grabbed the first aid box… which set my alarm bells ringing, so I jumped up and asked him what was the matter… he responded with a panicky 'someone got cut!!' so i asked, 'who?' he said Haze… [who is, incidentally, the Hazel that's tagged to my blogroll and the person who has been waiting to read this entry...] so i ran with him through the muddy ground and down to beach while asking him how bad the cut was and etc, and all he said was that he saw blood so he ran for the kit…. so I was actually prepared for the worst…

When i actually got to Hazel, i was SHOCKED!!! it turned out that she had an itsy bitsy, teeny-weeny, almost microscopic little splinter in the 3rd toe of her right foot… u know the normal kind of wood splinters that we get in our feet after walking/touching rough wood surfaces…. haiz… and i ran through all the mud for that lor… best thing is that she can still tell me that she's damn afraid of pain and to go slow… so i proceeded to remove it as gently as i could with a safety pin… (coz got no tweezers) with her screaming PAIN PAIN! WALAKEDE! WALAKEDE! (or something like that)… and Liza trying to be funny and making jokes out of the stuff in the first aid box (-.-")*sweat sia* finally got the damn thing out… poured a whole satchet of disinfectant on it and then she hopped off to play again… DRAMA QUEEN right? You should have been there to see it yourself…
Second highlight of the day was actually the 'laopok' van that desmond and the S&R team hired to transport their stuff for the programme and us… sigh… it's really damn retro lar… the gear is located near the steering wheel instead of near the handbrake… and not to mention, everything was threatening to fall apart inside… I was told to shhh though… coz it only cost 30bucks to rent it for a whole day so I guess that like the best deal they can get… well… as long as it serves the purpose… =)
I reached home at close to 5.30p.m…. it was my first time taking a train in SOOOOOOO long… *I know Tere… I'm a pampered spoilt brat brat brat and I absolutely LURVE it… so there!!!* Got home to find out that the girls had quite a bit of drama to deal with regarding the landlord… he finally decided to throw out all his old stuff instead of taking it with him… and… surprise surprise… he again tried to find the cheapest way out to all out requests… get this, he has changed Prat's lacy wisp of cloth to ….. TADA a bloody shower curtain… champion right!!! so the girls told him it wouldnt do… coz it definitely bloody wont function like a curtain is supposed to, i.e.: keep the heat/draft out and etc… and he got pissed off and started raising his voice at them… the cheap bugger… ugh! nvm him… we'll deal with him when we next see him…
the evening was spent lazing around watching ron set up my new ikea dressing table… simple, functional and nice.. but my mirror still isnt big enough to feed the narcissistic side of me… so we'll prob go and get more mirror pieces soon to fix it up… oh yes… I got my first ride in a Hyundai Accent, incidentally, where I heard 'Down' and fell in love with it… Oh yes, also went to Lau Pa Sat for a mutton satay supper!!! YUMYUMYUMMY!! *slurps*
Sunday was spent sleeping in, reading, doing laundry, watching bridget jones i and ii and watching the rain pour down… rain is always so cleansing… not only to the surrounding ground that it falls on, but also to the soul… rainy days always make me feel melancholic and happy in turns…
Woke up late again this morning, was actually looking forward to a fresh start to the day as i slept pretty early last night… but i think i didnt really sleep very well for some reason or the other… sigh… stumbled into the office and the day went as usual, have been procrastinating on finishing this entry, so much so that i've been working on it since 10a.m. and am still here typing away at 5.40p.m… the only reason i've been making progress on this is that its nearing the end of the work day… and my butt is itching to get out of this chair…
Am heading straight to NYC after this for another contingent meeting… apparently some people from the MFA (which is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) are coming over to brief the team about the relationship between Singapore and Malaysia… this is going to be an interesting talk man… lets see if they've got it right… bah… politics…
okie then, am signing off after rattling on and on and on… write you again tomorrow…
Love,
^C^
